Range
Range is my personal favorite way to kill large numbers of Mith drags, you can kill a decent number of dragons quickly and safely without spending a fortune doing it. The Dragons are one of the hardest monsters to hit on the game, their defence level is pretty high so the diamond bolt(e) special is very useful on them as it pierces right through it.
I have found standing next to the dragon with 'protect from melee' and 'eagle eye' on to be the best way to kill them. Quite a lot of people stand back with protect from range on, but the dragons use their melee attack more often than their range/mage attack so you actually take less damage if you're next to them with protect from melee on. While standing next to the dragon they only use their melee and magic attacks, if you stand out of their melee range they will use their range and magic attacks.
Mith drags are one of those monsters where one kill you'll completely destroy it then the next kill it will waste about half an invent of food and you'll hit constant 0's, as long as you're potted up and praying you shouldn't have any trouble with the majority of the kills, just the odd few every now and then decide they want to be semi invincible and take ages and/or use loads of supplies up. On an average trip using the example inventory shown below I will kill around 6 or so, good trips can even go up to 11 or 12 drags, on a bad trip you might not even manage 2, it all depends on luck with hits really.
The Mith drags will occasionally drop 'chewed bones', pick these up, the chewed bones can be burned on a pyre ship along the shoreline of the Baxtorian Lake and you will be rewarded by the barbarian spirit whose bones you burned. These rewards can vary from complete and utter junk to a nice shiny new Dragon Full Helm.
As for the full helm, it is probably one of, if not the rarest (valueable) monster drop on the game, very few people can claim to have gotten one as a drop and actually be telling the truth, along with the Draconic Visage the Mith Drag has some very nice drops waiting for those who are lucky enough to get them.

Melee
Melee doesn't fair as well as range against the dragons, the defence is pretty difficult to hit through with 1 handed melee weapons. Melee can work out as a cheaper method to kill the dragons though, you don't have the crossbow bolt costs to pay like you do with range, but in general takes longer to kill the dragon.
Melee can also be the fastest way to kill the dragons, but also very dangerous, using a Godsword or a set of Veracs helps hit through the dragons defence allowing you to kill them at a fairly decent speed (often faster than range). Of course the problem with this method is the dragon's breath, not nice to get hit by some 60+ fireballs, but drinking and antifire potion will reduce the fire's max damage to 35, while still fairly high it isn't high enough to kill you that easily. As long as you pay attention and eat as soon as you need to you should be ok, praying 'protect from mage' seems to make the dragonfire slightly less accurate also. I would only really reccomend this method if you are very high level and are comfortable killing the dragons. You use up lots of supplies this way, but kill the dragons much faster and travelling to the bank and back takes around 1-2 minutes so it works out a good method to kill more in a shorter time.

Magic
Magic isn't all that great against the drags, pretty expensive if you want to kill them at a decent speed, but if you're one of those odd people who like to mage things that aren't worth it killing them in the same way as you would if you were ranging them but using 'mystic might' and casting your spells on them would be the best way.
Good spells to use would be the highest level spells you can cast, charged god spells, ancients etc, lower level spells splash lots, even magic dart is pretty bad against these, but you may find them to be a fun way to train magic, especially if you get a good drop!

Example inventory |

The inventory below is only an example and will probably not work for everyone, tweaking with a few of the items to suit you is advised. |

Equipment notes
Full ranger void (Full Armadyl seems slightly better if you can afford it, void is 2nd best and much easier to get hold of for most people).
Diamond (e) bolts (If you have around 90+ range you'll do fine with just diamond bolts, any lower i'd suggest taking some ruby (e) for when the dragon is on high hp, some 90+ rangers take ruby too, it's entirely up to you, I personally prefer the extra invent space and not losing my hp to the bolt spec).
Ranger boots (Snakeskin boots or Bandos boots would be ok as alternatives).
Antifire shield (Dragonfire shield is optional although it does reduce your range bonus, but gives extra defence bonuses).
Monkfish (They are great for food, cheap and heal nicely. Banking doesn't take long at all so there is no need to take inventories of expensive food to kill maybe 1 or 2 more drags per trip).
Prayer pots (If you have high defence(90+), range(90+) and prayer(~80+) you would probably need to take 4 prayer pots rather than 3, maxed out players may need 5 depending on equipment).
Range/antifire pots (antifire pot saves you a lot of food and range pot is needed to hit through the huge defence level of the dragon, you may also want to take a super defence pot although they don't seem to help a massive amount).
Teleport tabs/necklace (The necklace is needed to teleport to Barbarian outpost and the house tab is for recharging prayer after each trip in your house, then use mounted glory/portals to teleport to a bank and restock for next trip).
